Process Owners

Process owners are accountable for the overall design, performance, and governance of enterprise processes. Each defined process is assigned a single process owner to ensure clear accountability and decision authority.

This page describes the role of process owners within the Enterprise Business Process Architecture and how ownership supports consistent execution and governance.

Purpose

Assigning process owners ensures that every process has a clearly identified authority responsible for its effectiveness, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Process Owner Responsibilities

Process owners are responsible for defining process scope, ensuring appropriate controls are in place, monitoring performance, and approving changes to the process. Ownership is independent of daily task execution.

Decision Authority

Process owners have authority to make decisions related to process design, improvement, and alignment with enterprise objectives. For quality-critical processes, this authority operates within Quality Unit oversight.

Governance and Oversight

Process owners are accountable to enterprise governance frameworks and participate in reviews, audits, and change management activities relevant to their processes.
