segregation, and traceability.

- New warehouse locations or racks are created
- Existing rack locations are modified or decommissioned
- Warehouse zoning or segregation layouts change
3. High-Level Flow
- Define or update rack locations
- Assign zoning and status restrictions
- Document rack map changes
- Verify alignment with physical layout
4. How to Maintain Rack Mapping & Location Control
-
Identify the rack, bin, or storage location requiring creation,
update, or removal.
-
Assign a unique location identifier and define permitted material
types or status restrictions.
-
Update the rack map or location record in
LOG-WH-RACKMAP-01.
-
Confirm physical signage, labels, and barriers reflect the updated
location configuration.
-
Verify system records align with the physical warehouse layout.
Note:
Rack mapping changes must be controlled and communicated to prevent
material misplacement or loss of traceability.
5. How to Know You’re Done
Rack mapping and location control are complete when all location
changes are documented, physical layouts match records, and
materials are stored only in approved locations.
