QMS Reporting Interpretation — Trend Table
Non-Authoritative Interpretation Notice
This page provides interpretive context only. Authoritative requirements,
execution expectations, and disposition authority are governed by approved
SOPs, WINs, and the Quality Management System (QMS).
Purpose
The Trend Table provides a structured, tabular view of quality records by
reporting period and lifecycle status to support Quality Control Operations
(QCO) oversight and system flow visibility.
The Trend Table and Trend Graph present complementary views of the same
underlying quality data.
What This Tab Shows
- Tabular counts of quality records by reporting period
- Segmentation of records by lifecycle status (e.g., Submitted, Under QA Review, QA Dispositioned, Closed)
- Aggregate totals across reporting periods
Status values displayed reflect the current state of each record at the time
of reporting and are derived directly from the individual quality records.
Intended Use
- Provide visibility into the status distribution of quality records
- Support QCO review of backlog, throughput, and lifecycle progression
- Identify areas requiring focused review at the record level
Limitations
- Does not evaluate record quality, effectiveness, or adequacy
- Does not assign priority, severity, or risk
- Does not replace review of individual records
- Does not authorize or require action
Record Drill-Down and Traceability
This tab provides direct access to individual quality records displayed in the
table. Each record contains the complete required data fields, supporting
documentation, approvals, and formal disposition.
- Status transitions are controlled within the individual record workflow
- Disposition decisions are documented and approved within the record
- The individual record remains the authoritative source of truth
The Trend Table does not summarize, reinterpret, or override record-level data
or decisions.
Decision Authority
Interpretation of status distribution and any resulting quality decisions
remain the sole responsibility of the Quality Control Officer (QCO).
Quality Assurance (QA) and other functions do not independently act based on
this view.

Governance Alignment
This interpretation supports consistent understanding of status-based
reporting and aligns with the QCO authority model without creating procedural,
execution, or decision requirements.
