QMS Reporting Interpretation — Trend Graph
Non-Authoritative Interpretation Notice
This page provides interpretive context only. Authoritative requirements,
execution expectations, and disposition authority are governed by approved
SOPs, WINs, and the Quality Management System (QMS).
Purpose
The Trend Graph provides a visual, aggregated representation of quality system
activity over time to support Quality Control Operations (QCO) oversight and
early trend signal identification.
The Trend Graph and Trend Table present complementary views of the same
underlying quality data.
What This Tab Shows
- Visual aggregation of quality records by creation date
- Comparative trend lines for CAPA, Change Control, and Quality Events
- Relative increases or decreases in quality system activity over time
Data displayed reflects record creation activity only and does not represent
risk severity, impact, or disposition status.
Intended Use
- Identify emerging, stable, or declining quality trends
- Support QCO management review and executive oversight
- Direct attention to areas requiring deeper review in the Trend Table
or record-level reports
Limitations
- Does not provide record-level detail
- Does not indicate investigation outcomes or effectiveness
- Does not evaluate compliance, risk, or regulatory impact
- Does not authorize or require action
Record Drill-Down and Traceability
This tab provides navigational access to related reporting views and supports
drill-down to individual quality records through associated tables and links.
- Individual CAPA, Change Control, and Quality Event records contain all
required fields, approvals, and disposition documentation
- The individual record remains the authoritative source of truth
The Trend Graph does not summarize, reinterpret, or override record-level data
or decisions.
Decision Authority
Interpretation of visual trend signals and any resulting quality decisions
remain the sole responsibility of the Quality Control Officer (QCO).
Quality Assurance (QA) and other functions do not independently act based on
this view.

Governance Alignment
This interpretation supports consistent understanding of visual trend reporting
and aligns with the QCO authority model without creating procedural,
execution, or decision requirements.
